OUR JOURNEY
Inspiring Toronto's Vibrant Art Scene
Liveations aims to foster inclusivity, empowerment, and visibility for marginalized communities within the vibrant Toronto arts scene. We are committed to providing a platform where LGBTQ+ and BIPOC artists can express themselves freely and connect with audiences who appreciate their unique perspectives. Curated exclusively for artists, musicians, and creatives in Toronto and it's surrounding cities, we are excited to bring together individuals that are passionate about music and the arts. We believe that fostering a supportive environment for artists is crucial for the growth and vitality of the creative community. Liveations brings an immersive experience that features musical performances, collaborative music sessions, and networking opportunities. Our aim has always been to provide a platform where artists can showcase their talent, connect with like-minded individuals, and explore new avenues of creativity. Since 2021, Liveations has hosted 6 events, 27 performances ranging from singers, rappers, musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, and comedians – with most identifying in one or more of the BIPOC, Queer, Immigrant, or Indigenous communities. There have been live-painting performances, tattoo studios, and an art gallery where visual artists can show their artwork as well as sell their artwork in the space. There have been several collaborative projects that have developed as a direct result of networking at Liveations events. This type of networking and collaboration is one of the goals of Liveations - artists that wouldn’t ordinarily work together, discovering new talent amongst other artistic communities.

Pedestrians passing by stopped to observe the purple lights shining through the windows of Space on King Street East, the venue where Liveations hosted its creatives-only hub on April 7.
Liveations, created by Ri-Ann Pully, presented its final event of The XChange, a three-part series looking to bring together BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ artists in Toronto.
The space consisted of three different rooms, each with its own vibe, with performances ranging from slam poetry to dancing, singing, an author reading his first novel and even a live painting show...
Writers Building Community — It’s Necessary
Kern Carter | April 19 2022
My favourite event to attend in Toronto over the past year is Liveations. It’s an invite-only gathering exclusively for artists started by a girl named Ri. What she does is connect organically with artists around the city, rent out spots we can gather, and encourages each artist she invites to bring one friend, preferably another artist.
At the first event, there were about twenty people. A visual artist was off to the side painting images, a DJ spun music on low in the background and a couple of musicians randomly hopped on the mic and serenaded the room. The second event had double the amount of artists. The performances were organized and timed, there were bartenders who served alcohol and a table for the weed smokers to roll their spliffs (they smoked outside). The music was a bit louder and people were dancing or mingling with familiar faces... Read more
